Wind Advisory: Hold On to Your Christmas Decorations

Wind could topple decorations and knock small tree limbs down with gusts from 20 to 30 mph in Los Angeles County mountains, according to the National Weather Service.

A wind advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. Thursday to 2 p.m. Friday, the NWS reports. Gusts blowing north to northeast could reach about 50 mph and be strongest below passes and canyons. 

“Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” the NWS reports. “Use extra caution.”

Here are the temperatures for Montrose, La Crescenta

Wednesday: Low around 44 degrees. Calm wind traveling north to northeast between 5 and 10 mph. 

Thursday: High near 57 degrees, Low around 42 degrees. Windy, with a northeast wind between 20 and 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Breeze could develop by night between 15 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Friday: 
High near 60 degrees. North to northeast wind between 10 and 15 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 67 degrees, low around 45 degrees.

Christmas Day: High near 71 degrees, low around 49 degrees.
